Hi,
We had some great entries to our last, 'Northern Isles' challenge. Thanks to all who took part.
This week we start with a simple object - a circular saw blade. What can you make with it?
The “rules”:
To download the starter image, hover over the image and click on the circle with the arrows at the top right. Then, when the image opens in its own window, right click and choose “Save Image As/Save Target As” (or similar depending on your browser). It is a png so is already cut out from the background for you - an easy start to 2025. 🙂
When posting back your image — please use the blue reply button in this first post and use the 'Insert Photos' icon at the top of the reply box. If posting a comment on someone else’s entry, then please use the grey reply button next to their image post.
Have fun!
Dave

I thought I was losing my marbles for a moment there, but it turns out I was between Dublin and Reykjavík on the 16th when this thread was started, so 'mostly' missed it. I noticed that I did 'Like' one of the uploads (This Star Trek impression by The OriginalGC).
I hate to miss these threads, so here is my late entry.
BTW The inspiration for the pallet fork comes from Dave taking up watch repair rather seriously. That's proper watches that don't have batteries. I'm taking credit for this weeks SFTW which was inspired by my treating myself to a new saw. I'd say that my workshop was especially messy, but that would be a lie, as it's mostly like that. 😞

I like the shiny metal balance wheel, Trevor.
The inspiration for the starter images comes from many places. Sometimes it is something I've been doing, as was the case with the palette fork, or sometimes a conversation, as was the case with your table saw. Sometimes it is just walking past a place or object. I do mean to write them down and make a list to choose from, but rarely do. 🙂
I love to see how the starter image is changed in so many different ways.

Nice. I'm not a cat person, but I love the big wild cats - magnificent creatures.

Dave, I'm more of a dog person too.
But if you look closely at this feline beast, you may spot that his cutting look has provided an escape mechanism through his steel enclosure. 😉

That's not a cheetah. Cheetas are the ones with the stripes in their faces.
