Something for the Weekend - Part 233 - The Vital Spark!

Hi,
There were some great entries to our Fulling Mill challenge, thanks to everyone who took the time to create and post them.

This week we start with an object, and an apology to writer Neil Munro for using his puffer steamboat's title this week. Those familiar with petrol (gasoline) engines will recognise the object as a spark plug. Those with electric or diesel engines will have to use your imagination. So we have our starting object, what can you turn it into?

The “rules”:

  • Use the starter image as at least part of your own image entry.
  • Anything goes, as long as it meets the forum rules on decency, copyright, etc.
  • Anyone, and everyone, is welcome to have a go, whether you are a complete beginner or a Photoshop expert. This is not just for our forum “regulars”.
  • There are no prizes apart from the chance to practice, show off your skills, or bring a bit of humor and fun. Don't be shy, join in and have a go!
  • The starter image is made available for you to use in this forum challenge only.

To download the starter image, hover over the image and click on the circle with the arrows at the top right. Then, when the image opens in its own window, right click and choose “Save Image As/Save Target As” (or similar depending on your browser). It is in png format with a transparent background so the cutting out is already done for you.

When posting back your image — please use the blue reply button in this first post and use the 'Insert Photos' icon at the top of the reply box. If posting a comment on someone else’s entry, then please use the grey reply button next to their image post.

Have fun!

Dave

It might be the scale but I can't see the starter image. Nice shiny engine though. 🙂

Firefly Video went live today, so I am hoping to be the first to use it in a SFTW thread (because I am shallow like that).  It got a bit ropey at the end, because I kept adding stuff and I am already late to where I am supposed to be. (I might fix it later)

YouTube is still processing it, so it looks a bit low res at the moment.

I'm a little late with this because I wanted to do something out of the usual. Unfortunately, because it's short, there's no real way to embed it here; you'll have to go on over to YouTube to see it because Adobe apparently has no idea Shorts exist. Just right-click the sucker and open it in a new tab. lol

(Also, sound on and watch your volume.)

What no eyes this week, James 🙂
That might have gone OK as a gif if you dropped the frame rate to around 12fps (0.083s per frame)

*True,* but there would be no sound effect.

Since you mentioned it, you can't beat a retrofit 🙂

Best regards, Euan.

Haha, we just need Para Handy standing on the deck 🙂 I do wonder why he went over the bridge rather than under it though?

Edit : Although on thinking about it, it wouldn't run with a wet spark-plug.

No no, it's a plasma levitator. (supercedes flux capacitor)

Best regards, Euan.

Good news: the Spark X rocket seen taking off above has successfully landed on its launch pad, in Paris.

Why is this a lucky dartboard?

I bet that dart lands in the board with a satisfying thud! Clever idea, Trevor!

I also see a certain, unlucky for some, number has gone but we now have two 7s 🙂

I love this one Leslie. You've created a great combination of real images, illustration and graphics all contributing to the final image. The 'spirograph' style spirals wrapping around the face and wires work particularly well, as does the circuit board in her eye.  I could see this used in a magazine or Sunday supplement to accompany an article on technology or AI taking over our lives. Brilliant!
