Something for the Weekend - Part 236 - Life of Pi!

Thanks to all who took part in our last rocky terrain challenge. It was great to see the different ideas and approaches to bring that scene to life.
I post this new challenge on March 14th which happens to be Pi day (3.14......). So I thought we should honour this remarkable number, which has been calculated to trillions of decimal places, by using its Greek symbol as a starting point. What can you make with it?
The “rules”:
- Use the starter image as at least part of your own image entry.
- Anything goes, as long as it meets the forum rules on decency, copyright, etc.
- Anyone, and everyone, is welcome to have a go, whether you are a complete beginner or a Photoshop expert. This is not just for our forum “regulars”.
- There are no prizes apart from the chance to practice, show off your skills, or bring a bit of humor and fun. Don't be shy, join in and have a go!
- The starter image is made available for you to use in this forum challenge only.
To download the starter image, hover over the image and click on the circle with the arrows at the top right. Then, when the image opens in its own window, right click and choose “Save Image As/Save Target As” (or similar depending on your browser). The background is transparent so you don't even need to mask it.
When posting back your image — please use the blue reply button in this first post and use the 'Insert Photos' icon at the top of the reply box. If posting a comment on someone else’s entry, then please use the grey reply button next to their image post.
Have fun!
Dave

I like that Euan. Where is the scenery, or is it generated?

No it was a quick thought and just generated. It does seem to be getting better with Scottish scenery 🙂

I hadn't seen the hammer in the symbol, until now 🙂

Dave, I saw the hammer immediately, and hence the rest as the perfectly shaped bent nail resulting from the failed attempt; and hurried lest someone else saw and acted on it first.

I'd forgotten that it was St. Patrick's day today, Jane. Thanks for reminding us with that nice shamrock texture.

Dave, out of interest. how did you upload this maintaining transparency? Did you just upload it as a PNG rather than the usual paste?

I just used the forum image widget to embed a png in the post.

Euen gave me this idea. His 'Pi In The Sky' image has a very Stanely Kubrick 2001 quality, so I took it a bit further.

They were trying to work out the value of Pi then, and we're still working on it now.
