There were some great ideas posted in our previous '180' darts challenge. Thanks to all who took the time to participate.
This week we are off to Loch Tarff in the highlands of Scotland. The loch is close to Loch Ness on the south-east side. It's name Tarff translates as bad-tempered or, when referring to weather, as severe or intense. There are some sources though, that suggest the word Tarff used here is a transliteration of the Gaelic word Tarbh which means bull. Tarbh-uisge were mythological creatures said to inhabit moorland lochs. If those descriptions don't give you a starting point for creating and image in this week's challenge then what will?
The “rules”:
To download the starter image, hover over the image and click on the circle with the arrows at the top right. Then, when the image opens in its own window, right click and choose “Save Image As/Save Target As” (or similar depending on your browser).
When posting back your image — please use the blue reply button in this first post and use the 'Insert Photos' icon at the top of the reply box. If posting a comment on someone else’s entry, then please use the grey reply button next to their image post.
Have fun!

Hellboy... Another potentially appropriate character to the mythological aspect of this challenge.

Always need to take a scene like this and see what it looks like at a different time of the day/year.

Of course, in the highlands, that could be just 5 minutes after the original pic. 🙂

Haha, we should have held a hide the windmill challenge. 🙂 Incidentally, I just checked , I took the starter picture in 2023, so there has been plenty of time for those windmills and wave generators to appear.

I painted a beautiful picture with parametric filter and neural filter and put the whole thing into a museum with Nano Banana. 🙂

I love this, Derek. A whirpool in the loch and a leaky bucket to show us why. Excellent! 🙂

Derek, what I find most amazing is the way the bail seems to float freely without touching the bucket.

That's exquisitely done, Derek. Chust sublime, in fact!

He will be as blue as Jane's jumpers will be, as soon as he reaches that ice cold loch water 🙂

The most impressive thing about this is that you got Aaron Nace to be it!

Haha, see the stories of mythical angry bulls were exaggerated. Just rubber ducks all in a row. 🙂

OK, this is daft but... You've heard of elf on a shelf, but how about:
Snarf, on a Tarbh, in the Tarff

A great play on the words, and I do like like the lighting. Very nice. 🙂

I guess the rest of the Thunder cats are hidden? 😊

No doubt they'll spring to the rescue... Only to discover the Tarbh was friendly all along, but mistook Snarf for an agent of Mumm-Ra

The pikes were biting tonight!
After sky replacement and ACR adjustment to the lake and mountains, I ran the image through NBP to create a painting style with large strokes. I then added in the fish to match the style and framed it with a stroke effect. The wild happened when I downsampled and then reupscaled using Topaz Bloom.
