Something for the weekend - Part 53 - Happy Birthday !

Hi

Well would you believe it? We have been doing these challenges for a year now!  Over that time we've seem some fantastic images, some bizzare images and some fantastically bizarre images

To celebrate, I thought we should have a SFTW birthday cake, which is where you come in. No starter image for this one, it is up to you to create the cake so you can make it as natural or as off the wall looking as you like.

Anything goes as long as it meets the forum rules on decency, copyright etc.

Anyone and everyone is welcome to have a go - whether you are a complete beginner or a Photoshop expert.

There are no prizes apart from the chance to practice, show off, or bring a bit of humour and fun. Don't be shy, join in and have a go!

When posting back your edited images please use jpeg and downsize to 1200px on the long side.

Have fun

Dave

    This was fun!

I don't like birthday cake, but if I did, this would be the one I eat. Yum-Yum

More of a savoury kind of a guy?  All tastes catered for at this birthday party.

Hmmm.  Just realised we have nothing to drink.    I'm ashamed of my quiche slice but bad as it is, everything is 100% Photoshop.

    Hi

    Some great entries this week.

Ged - That's a nice card and I see you've taken your usual wider perspective on the "brief"

Jacob - Nice use of the first SFTW image.

Rista - I love that cake.

Dean - You've certainley gone to town incorporating the previous challenges in that one!

Trevor - that Napoloean character looks familiar !

Happie - I'll have a slice of that - although in reality given a choice I would probably eat quiche over cake, so thanks to Trevor for providing a slice.

Thanks to all who took part over the last week. I'll post the new challenge in a few minutes.

Thanks Dave for facilitating this SFTW community. It's been a lot of fun to both add something and engage with others.

I haven't been a participant for the full year. For this one, I've reflected back on some of the past SFTW challenges I've joined.

Blimey Dean.  You _must_ get extra points for that one.

Rista, that is very pretty, but that moss growing on the tower looks deadly.  That'll be climate change for sure.

Jacob, I assume you paid Ged a license fee for using bizarre content?

Dave, people have had their heads cut off for sentiments like that, and an invite to eat cake is not helping my New Years Resolution.  Plus there is definitely something missing from that picture.

Trevor, no fee (maybe something like birds of a feather).

And here I was, thinking it was just a clear and straightforward presentation of the story we are celebrating (is it possible to recognize bizarreness from within?), from the very beginning (I was only lured into this by Jane in 34) at Dunstanburgh at the start of 2018 over the first full circle which actually brought us right back already in 52 which is why you can see Petra (whom you named) enjoying her freedom by soaring round her resting place (when you look up from the beach cake (actually formed by the beach), the castle is about 400 yards away, and about 400 yards further away in about that direction is Greymare Rock), and further to a future return in 2028 as you can count by the candles naturally dancing with joy over such a long and successful run of SFTW.

Thank you, Dave, for giving us your time preparing interesting starters, and to all participants.  I learned much from all your entries.

In all seriousness, many thanks. Even when I don't get a chance to participate, these are fun to leaf through. Many very inventive and creative people here.

    Edit to add; talented too!

[EDIT]  I apologise for the slow loading of this file.  I reduced it to 800 pixels and 128 colours, but it is still 2.3Mb.  Not much in the scheme of things, but the Adobe site is pretty slow for me in NZ.  Is that a general thing.or is there a kink in some trans Pacific cable?

    How about on the wall?

And in double size for improved readability:

Edit: For some, or no, reason it has proved impossible to make a direct link work, whichever way I have tried, so I am afraid it is necessary to RightClick and open in a new Tab/Window.
