Hi

This old railway line is in an industrial part of Teesside, in North East England. I wonder what you can make with it.

Anything goes as long as it meets the forum rules on decency, copyright etc.

Anyone and everyone is welcome to have a go - whether you are a complete beginner or a Photoshop expert.

There are no prizes apart from the chance to practice, show off, or bring a bit of humour and fun. Don't be shy, join in and have a go!

When posting back your edited images please use jpeg and downsize to 1200px on the long side.

To download the image below in jpeg format with ICC color profile (sRGB) and without the forum scaling artefacts , right click and then use Save Image As /Save Target As (or similar depending on your browser).

Have fun

I think I saw some chatter earlier about Rail Trails?

    Hi

Jacob - are you after Ged's bizzare image title?

Jane - Riding over those bumpy railway sleepers I'd definitely be standing up out of the saddle

Thanks to all who took part this week. The new SFTW challenge will be up shortly.

    Hi

Derek - nice one. I recognise those birds!

Dean - Is that what they call a hot-line?

Those must be Fledermice.  I've always wondered what they look like.

Around here, we convert them as cyclist/jog/walk lane.

    Hi

Dean - nice effect. It fits well with the perspective.

Pierre - a lot of the old closed branch lines in the UK are converted to cycle tracks, and very nice they are too. This particular line though runs through some heavy industrial sites and I suspect remains in place in case needed. Judging by the rust though, it does not look like it has been used for a while.

Dave, have you seen 'rail bikes' or 'rail biking'?  My ISP appears to be having problems, and I'll be lucky to post this, so  I could not find better examples.  You can  see that they could be used without taking away the tracks though.

Now what can I do about severe internet withdrawal?

Rista, I love that, and polar coordinates image is very cool as well.

I had to narrow the gauge for Thomas.  Dave, I bet you weren't expecting this one (or something like it).   This week has sure got off to a good start.  16 posts and it's still Saturday (4PM for  me).

All are welcome Dave - I look forward to seeing what you come up with :-)

Jacob - Great idea with the railway line chocolates

Rista I do like that. All those straight lines turned into curves plus the train added - excellent.
