Sony Rx100 M7A Raw files not recognised

Sony recently replaced my non-repairable RX100M7 with a new camera of [same] model, now called RX100M7A. Lightroom Classic (up to date version, including Camera Raw) does not recognise the raw files (it did on the previous M7).  Any suggestions welcome, thanks.

1. Update Your Software

Your RAW files may not be supported due to outdated software. Try updating:

  • Adobe Lightroom / Photoshop – Update to the latest version of Adobe Camera Raw (ACR).
  • Sony Imaging Edge – Download the latest version
  • Capture One – Ensure you’re using the latest version.

2. Convert RAW to DNG

3. Check File Compatibility

4. Use Alternative Software

If mainstream editors don’t work, try:

  • RawTherapee (Free and open-source)
  • Darktable (Alternative to Lightroom)
  • FastRawViewer (Quick RAW file previews)

Thanks. Lightroom and Camera Raw are the latest versions, as of recent
updates. It is the editor I use and will continue to use. I also tried
downloading and using Adobe DNG convertor: it too said unrecognised files.
There is an option of converting to TIFF via the Sony Imaging Software
which works- I really don't want the hassle for the number of photos I take
and the extra space needed.
