Sony Vaio was running Photoshop happily, but has stopped recognising GPU after upgrading to 23.1. Machine running Windows 10. No problem on main machine with Nvidia graphics running Windows 11. Rolled back to 22.5.4 and error message disappears but GPU still shows as unrecognised.

Uninstalled Photoshop and graphics processor, rebbooted and clean instralled Photoshop again. Problem persists.

I think you where just lucky that it worked, the Mobility Radeon HD 5000 is over 10 years old, it doesn't have the required 1.5GB of VRAM and only has DirectX 11 support, Photoshop requires a GPU with DirectX 12 support

As I said, it was working fine up until a couple of weeks ago. Something has
changed somewhere. This is pretty much a clean install of Windows 19041 and
is up to date. It's obviously not my main machine, but it is (was) useful to
be able to go quick and dirty tweaks on pix from my armchair without
powering up the main machine in the office.
