Sound render drops out when starting Photoshop

Hello!

I encounter complicated problem. 
It happens when I open Photoshop, Youtube goes in loading stage and after some time says "audio rendering error".  It's not just Youtube, but VLC also, all sounds are non functional, but when I switch to LCD speakers trough GPU audio i have sound and Youtube resume playing.


I am using Focusrite Saffire 14 pro firewire sound card and I don't have problem with any other app. Interesting thing is when I uplug and plug card again sound is back, but when alt tabing Photoshop or doing some work in app that put little load on system, it drops again. I can alt tab all other apps like, cubase, premiere, lightroom, games. Sometimes I hear sttuter, but no drop.

 

I tried drivers, turning off gpu acceleration, enable /disable all sound devices, but problem persist. Every time before sound drops out I hear sound sttuter and cracks. 


It all begins when I installed new GPU msi 3080 12gb suprime x. CPU is r9 5900x, 32gb balistix, mobo msi x570 tomahawk. I am using Firewire card in Pcie slot for sound interface. 

Don't understand why just Photoshop. I am doing a lot of work in PS and listen YT or smting all

the time so this is really a problem for me. Using PS 2022.

    Once more, thank  you for reply.

     

    I tried fTPM and didn't resolve. 
    Also tried Photoshop reset, unistalled MSI afterburner, clean installed of nVidia studio drivers. 

    But, I tester some things and realize that problem is with all adobe apps. If I play youtube and open Premiere drivers work, but then if I minimize/maximize fast blue screen occurs. This is not a problem cause this isn't real time situation. 
    Then if I open Premiere and in audio hardware change latency couple of times, blue screen occurs.

    I menage to artificialy produce a problem in Lightroom. Opened Youtube and then play 4k video in Lightroom with fast reselection between diferent videos.

    When Youtube and Cubase opened together they work without a problem even in very forced situation. 
    Some Asio problems?

    Hello again!

     

    I found time to make some more testing.

    Found that

    -others Adobe  apps also can in rare situation crash Audio driver, but Photoshop always

    -tried old GPU 8800 GTS and no problems

    -change ASIO buffer size from 512 to 4096 and latency SHORT, this made problem occur much less, game changing. I don't know what is buffer size. I can make assumption, but if someone know exactly, then u can make educated guess what problem might be.

     

    I will contact you with more information. For now I have some progress. This problem really eat me alive, cause once in lifetime I have good PC and now I can't listen youtube or similar while working 😞

    My PSU is also 1000w (in my case Corsair RM1000x).

     

    Some things you could try.

    1. Reset Photoshop Preferences - just to make sure Photoshop is in default state. I tested with version 23.5

    2. Ensure your GPU driver is updated - I am using NVidia Studio driver 516.93 and always used Advanced - Clean Install when updating the GPU driver to ensure remnants of the old driver are not carried forward. I don't install the addional game nonsense that comes with the NVidia drivers.

    3. If you are using a GPU acceleration package like MSI Afterburner - try without it.

    4. Make sure your audio interface software is up to date (although here my M-Audio interface software has not been updated for years).

    I don't know about audio system. Sometimes people have experienced a problem of losing sound or stretching sound in Ryzen CPU.

    If this is not a problem, many problems related to GPU have been reported in Photoshop 2022, so I think it will be a problem of Photoshop.

    Thank you for reply. Nice to see that u don't have a problem with similar GPU. I was afraid that is something about current. Maybe it is. PSU is 1000w evga g6. 

    Sound effect is like some grounding problem and it can be heard in almost every high spike load pc situation, but just Photoshop mess up with drivers.

    I've just tested here using an M-Audio Interface (2626Pro) connected via Firewire card in PCIe. I experienced no sound drops when I started and used Photoshop whilst listening to YouTube.

     

    CPU i9-10920X, GPU RTX3090, 256GB RAM, NVMe drives + SSD drives
