Spacebar doesn't toggle to Hand Tool [OSX Mojave]

For some reason, while working in the latest version of PS (20.0.4), when I press the Spacebar, the Hand Tool doesn't come up. I have even tried 'Reset Tool' and 'Reset All Tools'.  I work on macOS Mojave version 10.14.4. Somebody please help me.

In the above case, the fix was closing an open browser which could be taking ownership of sorts to the space bar.

Thank you for taking the time. I just tried out your suggestion, but, sadly it didn't work. This is driving me crazy.

Have you restarted the computer, does the issues go away?

Thank you so much for your response. Closing all the browser windows and restarting my laptop didn't do the trick.

Do you have any other applications running while Photoshop is open?

I generally do. But in an attempt to remedy this problem, I made sure to not have any other applications, except PS running. Didn't help.

Have you tried resetting your prefs. Turning off dark Mode in Mojave has resolved some seemingly unrelated issues.

Mojave as an OS has had many issues and very little benefit. Going back to High Sierra is a long process, btu suggesting nonehteless.macOS 10.15 Catalina wont be out until fall, and hate to be first one on new OS as never really good idea since OS X. Under OS 9 the updates were more reliable and gave bang for buck.

Just turned off dark mode, saved all my work, closed everything and restarted my laptop. Launched PS and nothing else. Still nothing

I don't think my MacBook Pro has a touch bar. Also, when I work in LR, the Spacebar toggles to Hand Tool just fine. It's just PS I'm having a problem with.

Did you change any of your settings ever for these system preferences

• keyboard (especailly international language)
• accesibility

My accessibility and keyboard screens look like yours, so have no idea what's going on. I have 8 GB RAM.

Do you have the Mac OS Spotlight shortcut turned on? It's command + space. Maybe something funky going on there.

No, I don't. I cannot, for the life of me, figure out what's going on.

I think that illustrator has changed the Key. If you look in the short cut preferences the handtool is now (H) key unless I never used this key because I was accustomed to the spacebar. I think this can be changed in the shortcut preferences. I deleted the shortcut key H and just updated this with a space and it worked.
