Strange issue recording a timeline video animation in 3D mode. Pleeease help! :0)

Hello Support Community Friends,

As many of you who are familiar with recording animations in the video timeline know, Photoshop automatically inserts key frames into the timeline whenever you finish moving or modifying your object.  This standard process works perfectly for me as long as I'm in 2D mode.  However, as soon as I switch to 3D mode and follow the same recording process, Photoshop is not inserting the key frames.  A second odd occurrence is that even if I manually insert the key frames, the object does not move during video playback.

Here is a precise list of the steps I’m performing (which takes less than 1 minute):

1. Open a new document
2. Create a new Layer 1
3. Select the paint brush and click once to color a single large dot
4. Go to the Window menu and open the 3D and Timeline palettes  
5. In the 3D palette select the radio button for 3D Postcard
6. Click Create (which switches to the 3D workspace)
7. In the Timeline palette click Create Video Timeline
8. Twirl down Layer 1
9. Twirl down 3D Meshes
10. Click the stop watch to insert the first key frame
11. Move the timeline slider to the 2 second point
12. Use one of the 3D move tools to shift the colored dot a little

At the completion of step 12 Photoshop should insert a key frame but for some crazy making reason is not.

I chatted in to Adobe support and they remoted in to check a few things, including that my graphics card driver was updated, Photoshop version was current, etc.  This made no difference.  After 2 hours they said I must be doing something wrong so keep trying until I figure it out.

If the solution to my issue is obvious to someone, I would be incredibly appreciative for the shared wisdom.  If the solution is not obvious, I would also be incredibly appreciative if someone would simply follow my steps above and see if Photoshop inserts the key frame after step 12.  The process list only takes about 1 minute.
