Feb 25, 2022 Feb 25, 2022

Anyone know where to find a reliable template for making a YouTube Channel banner with Photoshop? I am afraid to open the random .zip file I found on the Internet to do this...

thank you

Perhaps the safest option is to create your own file. I copied the following information from YouTube Help...

Banner image guidelines
Your banner image must meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum dimension for upload: 2048 x 1152 px with an aspect ratio of 16:9.
  • At the minimum dimension, the safe area for text and logos: 1235 x 338 px. Larger images may get cropped on certain views or devices.
  • File size: 6 MB or smaller.

Thanks, Michael. I am aware of the guidelines, but if you dive deeper you'll find it's a very confusing mess, with a lot of crossed lines, different views, and assorted difficulties (and I was surprised that Google had made it such a slog!). If I were confident in the websites offering templates to work with (as .zip files) i would definitely prefer that option.

My hope is that someone here has used or made a template they would be willing to share and vouch for. Thanks!

Where is the problem? You must extract ZIP file then open PSD in Photoshop. Most of the time there will be Smart Object layer named "place your image"or similar. Double click that layer to edit it in new tab, place your image then save and close.

Hi Bojan - the problem is that a .zip file can contain anything in it. If you download one off some random site Google shows you when you search on, say, "youtube channel banner template," you have no idea whether you're getting a youtube channel banner template or a packet of viruses. Trojan horses in the form of zip files or other executables that seem desirable to download can infect your computer with worms, viruses, extremely annoying ad malware, etc.

That's why I'm asking here, if folks have reliable sources.

Hi, I would suggest you one of the best and most reliable sources of PSD templates for your YT channel banner. You can use Freepik to download your template for free.

I prefer to create my own banner myself in photoshop. But when I a so much workload, then I download the free PSD templates from freepik and customize them slightly.

I hope it helps.
