Text appears above text frame

Why would the text show up above the container I created for it?

Hi Scott,

 

The only reason I can think of for this to happen is a baseline shift. This is a character setting, so the text has to be selected. If you don't see it:

  • select your text with the Type tool
  • Ctrl+A to select all
  • post a screen shot with the selected text and the Character panel.

 

 

Baseline Shift is the control marked below. All characters must be selected.

You are correct. That box had 48 pt in it. I don't know how that got there, because I sure didn't do it. Hopefully, Photoshop will remember that I want it to be 0 next time.

Draw a shape that you want. Then take the type tool first one and click on the edge of the shape and start typing.
