Text getting washed out when converting to 3d

When I convert my text (which has an image inserted inside it utilizing a clipping mask) into 3D, the color is immediately becoming faded and washed out looking. Losing a significant amount of saturation.

Hi

There are a few possibilities here.

1. Make sure your image and text are in a smart object so they are converted together.

2.If your image is in 16 bits/channel then in scene click linearise colours. This is required after a bug was corrected a couple of versions ago.

3. By default, your image is applied to the diffuse property, but the scene lighting and the other material properties all affect the look. That is the same as printing a photograph and viewing it under different lighting and with shiny/matt surfaces. You could try putting the image onto the Illumination property and turning the others down. That way it gives off light rather than reflects it.

Can you post some screen shots? It will depend on your 3D lighting, that will tend to washout or darken various areas, depending on how the light reflects.
