Text is pixellated?

Hi

I'm pretty confused: all the text in every photoshop file I open is pixelated. It renders that way as well when I export. The files are 300DPI, and I've had no trouble with the fonts before. Opening and closing the porgram did not help.

Has anyone encountered this before?

Without any system info, details about the fonts, screenshots and so on nobody can tell you much. You need to be more specific.

Could you please post a screenshot taken at View > 100% with the pertinent Panels (Layers, Channels, Options Bar, …) visible?

The image size is 500x500 px, font is Gotham Black 16pt, also tested on Courier New and Always Script. I have tried opening new projects at different sizes and the problem continues.

Could you please post a meaningful screenshot in which the Type Layer and the Type Tool are selected.

As it is we cannot see the Type settings you chose.

Yes, of course it's pixelated - there are only 500 pixels to go around. That's a tiny file, almost a thumbnail. You can check for yourself how many pixels are available for each character.

And yes, of course it looks a lot better on an image with a hundred times more pixels.

Hi D Fosse, I'm sorry if I wasn't clear. It's pixelated at all sizes INCLUDING the large sizes, though I now realize that might not be clear to you on a smaller screen. And it is visibly pixelated at 500px even if I'm viewing it at 100%, and as we all know it's normally possible to have sharp text on a small image if it is viewed at its intended size.

c.paffin - I will get the screenshot as soon as I get to my computer tomorrow. Thank you!
