Text not changing in the Templates in Photoshop (Windows)

Recently i bought some premade tcg card templates for a game im making and i cant edit the text or change the colors of some elements.Im new to photoshop and im afraid i will be bad at explaining my isssue.When i click on the texts in the layers section and change it my edit is not reflected in the file.It just doesnt change. Ask  me any questions and will do my best to answer or post screenshots.

Please post screenshot with Layers panel visible so we can understand why you can not change text on Type layer.

    You are trying to change generic name of the layer. To affect text activate Type Tool, select layer with text, navigate mouse over text and when cursor turns into I-beam click onto canvas to create insertion point. Select text and retype it. You can also double click on Type Layer's thumbnail to select entire text on layer.

     

    If you do not understand me please look for some tutorial how to modify and change existing type layer in Photoshop.
