I have never been able to figure this out. When you have drawn/painted a tilted book and you want to add a title to the front, how do you place it so it looks right. As an example I am attaching my Illustrator book. Don't laugh, I know that's not right. 🙂
I have turned this every which way and can't get it to look natural. Any help?
Hi!
I agree with Jane that the book orientation is incorrect, but I thought when you found another image to use that you could follow these steps:
1. Create your text, and enlarge it to the size you would want on the book.
2. Turn it into a Smart Object. If you need help with smart objects, check this out: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/create-smart-objects.html
3. Drag the text over to the edge of the book, so the bottom left corner is touching the left edge of the book (I made t

And pay attention to the orientation of the book. The spine should be on the left if you are writing on the front cover.

Hi!
I agree with Jane that the book orientation is incorrect, but I thought when you found another image to use that you could follow these steps:

2. Turn it into a Smart Object. If you need help with smart objects, check this out: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/create-smart-objects.html
3. Drag the text over to the edge of the book, so the bottom left corner is touching the left edge of the book (I made the type yellow in this image so you could see it against the white).
4. From the Edit Menu, choose Distort (this is why you need to turn it into a smart object. When it is a smart object, it is still editible and you can go back and change the size, color, font.) With Distort selected from the Edit menu, grab the MIDDLE handle at the top of the text object and drag to the right until the left edge lines up with the left edge of the book. When you are satisfied. Click Ok.
6. As I mentioned above, you can edit the smart object and make it bigger but double clicking the Smart object icon at the bottom the image in the Layers panel. Make your changes, and save, and the image will automatically be updated.
Let us know if you have any questions.

Thank you, that demo was just what I needed. I did turn the book the correct way and got the text situated on the front, no problem. I wasn't sure if I should use the skew, perspective, distort or whatever to do this. Now I know.
