Text size is too small on photoshop

I am using Photoshop for macbook and when i try to increase the size of my text it still comes out very small. Fr example my text is at 72 pt and i can barely see it. How do i fix this problem?

How large is the document you're working on, can you post a screenshot to highlight the issue, also what version of Photoshop do you have

In addition to Ged's questions, what is your zoom level? Confirm that you are zoomed to 100%.

Also try changing the type size to 200pts to start, then pull back. Use the options bar or character panel, not Free Transform.

Check to see if you accidentally checked superscript.
