Text Tool Not Working As Before

Select Test Tool

Click into project to type, Lorem Ipsum appears

Begin typing...nothing changes as it did before, must click off the text then click back in to begin typing.

 

Please revert to previous version of Text Tool

It doesn't work that way here.

What operating system and what version of Photoshop are you using?

Have you tried resetting the type tool?

Lestes Windows 10, latest version Photoshop, reset tool doesnt do anything, you click anywhere in project start typing, Lorem Ipsum wont go away as it starts with options to select. Still must move mouse off of text for options to vanish under text and then I begin typing. Text works but whomever added this in was not thinking.
