The extract functionality breaks when I have a PSD with artboards. Has anyone else had this problem?
I'm happy to say that artboards are now supported in Extract on the Creative Cloud website. Let us know how you find it and if there's anything we can improve!

It simply isnt supported yet. Adobe, what's your plan?

Thanks for the reports, and we're sorry that you're running into this - you shouldn't have and, well, there's a story there, but we do indeed have a plan, and it's quite close. I can't give you a specific time or date but stay tuned. I'll update this thread when the new stuff has been deployed.

Hi Brent, we just recently found an issue like this and fixed it locally. I just tested your PSD with that fix and see both artboards shown. We'll get that fix push out to our production servers ASAP.
Thanks for the report.

Hi Mark, Reach, et. al.,
I have another PSD that's giving me guff. It won't display the first artboard in an array of boards on CC in a browser (Chrome or Safari). You'll see that I've thrown a second Desktop artboard in the mix, out front of my first one, and now the new artboard isn't showing, but the second one is. Help?
Thanks!
-Brent

Hi Brent, I'm seeing the issue you describe. I think we've got a backend fix for this working it's way through the system, but I'll check with the other devs to be sure about that. Meanwhile, I think you can work your way around this issue by clicking the eyeball icon next to that layer in the layers panel to hide it and then clicking it again to show it. Does that allow you to continue working with that file?
Hope this helps,
Mark

Thanks Mark!
That's a good work-around for now. I'm working with the file A-OK. My main challenge is when I use CC to pass along comps for review. Some team members that aren't as savvy with Extract understand how to use the zoom field and are able to scroll around just fine. Their understanding falls short when I try to get them to use the layers panel. My dev's are better at using it.
Thank you for getting the fix rolling. It will certainly help me out.

Hi Brent, glad that workaround works for you, and sorry it's not so obvious to use. We've looked into this issue and it looks like a new issue for us. I've got another dev digging into it right now and we'll try to get a real fix out to you ASAP.

Hi Brent, we should have a fix for this issue in production now. Let me know if this works for you or not.
Thanks,
Mark

It doesn't work for me... just a giant image. or 3 for 3 artboards.

Melissa, can you possibly share your PSD with us so we can take a look at it?

It won't upload... how can I share? I tried to zip it, tried to upload with the picture icon... what am I missing? I went in the advanced editor... I know it's not that hard... my family is bugging me to go eat dinner... tell me how like I'm really dumb and I'll do it after dinner

Melissa, you're going to share a Creative Cloud link. If you're viewing your PSD online at creative.adobe.com, the file is already uploaded.
Are you using a mac or pc?
What was for dinner?

I am on a mac.
Mexican... Shared fajitas with my daughter, but she's eats too much to share with, we were both hungry after, Lol!
it keeps changing the name of the link...

Below is what I'm seeing. It appears that all of your artboards are coming through. I wouldn't worry about the link changing - I've experienced that, too. I find that no matter how many times a link changes, adobe routes it to the correct place (old links continue to work). I do have challenges with CC reissuing links if I accidentally move a file out of my CC folder, to the desktop, then back, but that's for another thread.

That's the one. What would be really great is if we had a library panel in DW. These graphics are in my library. It would make things nice and seemless - dump the extract and just use libraries for everything.
I'm putting this all together this way so I can turn it into a lesson to teach it. But if the artboards aren't working... I can't teach it.

So, extract isn't displaying artboards in Dreamweaver for you? Might be time to start a new thread. This one is about getting artboards working in extract on a browser.
Sidenote, I think of libraries as a repository for graphic elements, but not defined assets (a jpeg with specific dimensions and compression). Take your owl logo for example, I feel like that should show up in your library once, but in your comps you might want it compressed differently for different mediums - you take care of that on your artboards and let extract export those for you, leaving your libraries free of extra clutter.

The art boards are actually displaying just fine in DW, I just can't extract the images, just the whole art board, which isn't what I want.

I don't think anyone wants that.
Go ahead and start a new thread under Dreamweaver titled Extracting images out of PSD artboards isn't working.

Hi melissapiccone ,
Happy to let you know that we are working on it and our next update should support it.
You would be able to extract all the little objects inside a artboard soon.
