1.photoshop v 23.0

2.windows 10 pro 19043.1288

Hardware

CPU:corei-5 8400

GPU:GTX1060 6GB

RAM:64GB

3.Just open few(like 10) light(30MB each) PSD files, and that fills the vram.

That makes the viewport navigation so slow, and starts to not show parts of the image in certain display magnification.

It also makes other apps window flicker(even the task manager).

To avoid this I am using v21.2.11 and using the legacy compositing engine.

But v21.2.11 is becoming old and has other bugs so I want to move on to the newer versions.

It is so strange that such light files that has no problem with the legacy compositing engine,

uses so much vram and makes photoshop almost unusable in the new compositing engine.

Is everyone having the same problem, or is it that my PC has something wrong?

If it's just how the new photoshop is, then I think the new photoshop is wrong and need fixes.

Hi

I just loaded about 12 PSD's some with lots of layers and smart objects and didn't notice any issues with VRAM, I was able to navigate the interface without issue, using Photoshop 23.0 on Windows 10

RAM usage is only about 10GB and that includes the OS and Firefox

Hi, The new compositing engine relies more on the GPU for more tasks, but it requires a more powerful GPU, and up to date drivers.
