Hey @RFisher2014

You may have accidentally pressed the "H" which is the keyboard shortcut for the hand tool. If you're trying to get back to the marque tool, press "M."
Let me know if that helps.

I’llit does the same thing when I use illustrator so I can’t have my
Photoshop and illustrator up at the same time because my pointer will turn
to a hand and then I have to reboot out of my computer just to be able to
get the pointer back on illustrator.

@RFisher2014

Just to confirm—are you saying that even if you press a different keyboard shortcut like "M," the tool doesn’t change unless you restart?

If so, could you please share your System Info? You can find it by going to Help > System Info in Photoshop, then copy and paste that into a text file and attach it here.

A screen recording would also be super helpful as we try to narrow down what might be going on. So far, I haven’t been able to reproduce the issue on my end.

Thanks again for your patience!

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
