The scroll of the mouse wheel no longer works on the "characters" panel.

Previously I had the option to click on the font name and scroll through the characters with the mouse wheel. Now I can't even do it with the keyboard darts. it is important for my workflow to be able to use this method, as it was before. Thank you. Photoshop 23.4.2 - OS WINDOWS 10 PRO. Sorry for the translation.

Hi @alessandroboni sorry to hear this. Try this and let me know if it resolves the lag.  With Photoshop launched, press Ctrl+K to open Preferences, click on Technology Previews, and check Deactivate Native Canvas, click OK, then quit and relaunch Photoshop.

Thank you,

Hi, it doesn't solve the problem. I have downgraded to the previous
version and it works the way I want. But I don't want this to be the
solution. I would like to keep updating to the latest versions and have
the feature I requested again. I would like to click on the name of the
font in the CHARACTERS panel and scroll through the characters with the
mouse wheel or the keyboard arrows without opening the drop-down menu with
the entire list of characters. This mode is important to my workflow when
choosing a font. Thank you.

Do other scroll wheel functions work OK?

Zoom in and out?  (No modifier key needed but the cursor does need to be withing the document bounds.)

I assume the zoom options are turned on in Preferences?

Does the scroll wheel work OK in other apps?

What mouse are you using, and what driver?

Do you other pointer hardware that might be causing an issue? I appreciate that going back a version fixed the issue.

FWIIW I am using an MX Master 3 with Windows 10 and Logitec Options, and everything seems to be working OK.  I also have a Wacom tablet, and 3dConnexion Space Mouse ally playing nicely together.

The mouse and wheel work throughout the Photoshop environment. It does not
work only and exclusively in the "characters" panel if I want to scroll
through the characters while keeping the list of characters closed. You
cannot scroll through the characters either by scrolling with the arrow
keys. It had already happened in the past following an update and then
subsequently fixed with the next update. I hope it will be resolved as
soon as possible.

It's not just the mouse wheel. The lag is horrific in the fonts panel, whether using the mouse wheel or keys.
