They've done it again!

When the previous version of Photoshop was released, it had what I presume was a fairly universal bug, in that whenever I opened InDesign or Illustrator, they reported something along the lines of there being missing files required by Photoshop. It irked me so much, in the end I retrograded to the previous version. It's been a few months now, so I thought it would be the right time to upgrade, especially as the feature count has increased considerably. And yet here I am now, using InDesign, and I have selected a link to edit in Photoshop. For the last 20 minutes, an alert saying "Verifying Adobe Photoshop 2025.app" has been displayed. The only other applications I have open are InDesign, Safari, and Mail. This is *really* winding me up. This subscription is not cheap these days; I even question its full value. I don't need stuff like this holding up my production processes. Mac Mini M2 Pro. Any ideas?

This is a security "feature" by macOS called Gatekeeper. Steps to override Gatekeeper for an app are on the Apple website:

Let us know if this solves your issue.

There has been a development. I have quit Photoshop and restarted the machine. Same issue persists. However, from InDesign, I have tried selecting the link on the page, choosing "Locate link in Finder" and then dragging and dropping the found file on top of the Photoshop icon in the dock. That works! It's a nag, but for now it will have to do.

Well, if your workaround is a "nag", why not try what jane-e recommended just above and let us know whether that solves it more permanently?.
