.tiff images throwing error in Photoshop (when image properties are set)

Dear members,

My client is facing a weird issue on Photoshop. Whenever she opens a .tiff image in Photoshop she gets an error and image doesn't get open up.

We tried to find out the cause and identified that images fails to open whenever the properties of that image are changed (either through SharePoint or through windows itself). There are some images that still opens in Photoshop (whose properties are not set).

As these images were uploaded on SharePoint, we were under assumption that SharePoint is corrupting them but later we realized that they fails to open even if  the properties are changed through windows (by right clicking image -> properties -> details -> set properties).

We have executed multiple test cases and pretty sure that this is because of properties set/change and not related to platform where they are uploaded.

Further to this, we have a process (which can not be changed) in which the images have to be uploaded on SharePoint 2013 and properties/metadata should be set in order to get them in the search results (with the help of tagging). These search results are then used on our public websites.

Thus this issue is bit critical and long running. It would be great if we could get a solution.

    Hello, could you create a tiny tif, upload, change the properties (which ones exactly did you change? which version of SharePoint?)

    Then share it online (creative cloud public link) so that the team can take a look at the file?

    We're sorry to hear about the error, could you please let us know what error is your client getting when she tries opening a .tiff file?

    Does it happen with other formats or is it only specific to .tiff?
    Does it happen with all .tiff files or some specific files?

    Could you please let us know what version of Photoshop you're working on and which operating system are you using?

    Also I want to send you some images to better understand the issue.

    May I know how can I do that ?

    1. What error do you get when you try to open the .tiff image ?

    Error message from TIFF file.

    2. Does it happen with other formats or is it only specific to .tiff?

    Same image, opened in paint saved as gif and received following error in Photoshop

    Same image, Opened in paint saved as jpeg then opens correctly in Photoshop

    Same image, Opened in paint saved as png then opens correctly in Photoshop

    Same image, Opened in paint saved as tif then opens correctly in Photoshop

    3. Does it happen with all .tiff files or some specific files ?

    It happens with some specific .tiff files.

    4. Could you please let us know what version of Photoshop you're working on and which operating system are you using ?

    I receive the same error when I open his files in Photoshop CC (2018).
