Question

Timeline is sticking or hanging

Im using a iMac pro, macOS Sequoia 15.1.1; Photoshop 2025 v 26.1.0

When I open Timeline it just hangs. I cant even move or select anything without it "beachballing" and even after it has a think it still wont do anything. Its only in timeline. When Im just working on a normal psd file every thingis hunky dory.

Im trying to update a client's mp4 template (which worked in PSD 2024 - no issues, piece of cake). When I open up the same file it doesn't show their artwork - the layer is there but its empty. When I try and click on the link icon in Layers Palette it just pops up with the Layer Styles dialog box.

Ive tried it on other macs (same OS and PSD version) - same issue.
I dont know if its a v.2025 issue, but is there anyway I can download 2024? I tried lookign for it in Creative Cloud but cant find it.

Please help, its turning a really simple job into a nightmare.

It sounds like a bug in Photoshop 2025; try resetting preferences or reinstalling the app. Unfortunately, Adobe does not offer direct downloads for previous versions through Creative Cloud, but you can check for 2024 under "Other Versions" within the app. If that does not work, you might need to contact Adobe menu support
