Toggling view centers me in document

Not sure if this is something that can be changed, but when I hotkey 'f' when in a document, it will auto put me in the direct center of the document. This is really annoying if I'm working in a really tall or wide document, as now I have to scroll back to the area I was just looking at. Does anyone know if this is a thing that can be turned off?

So this did not appear to fix anything. I reset my preferences and took a video of what is happening. This can't be expected behavior, can it?

Yep, that's the version I'm on as well.

Then something is wrong. You might try resetting the preferences which sometimes cures unexpected behavior.
