I recently got a Surface Pro 7 for the purposes of being able to draw digitally on the go. I stupidly assumed touch gestures were just a thing that would work with photoshop.
I KNOW CS6 is an older version, but I'm seeing mixed answers on this issue. most of these community posts I've been seeing about touch gestures for a touch screen say that it is only available for CC and after BUT I came across this page https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/support-touch-screens-photoshop-cs6.html
And I am very confused.
It clearly says AND CS6. If it's true, how can I enable it?
If it is FALSE, fine. I will give up the pursuit. But someone should also change that page.

I do not see any CS6 Preferences that enables touch gesture. So all you will be able to do with touch in CS6 is position the cursor. You may be able to get a device driver to support Touch like a mouse.
By the way you can not draw with touch even in CC, Only Touch gestures are supported by Photoshop. Finger painting is not. Photoshop does not have support for using multiple brushes most users have more than one finger and palm rejection can also be a problem and fingers do not have buttons to click on. Photoshop Brush engine does not Support finger divices without buttons. You can use a touch Pads they have buttons. Be careful to use only one finger painting and there the is no pressure finger support that I know of.
You need to get a surface Pen for your Surface 7 and use WinTab support for CS6 so you need the Optional Microsoft wintab device driver for Microsoft's ntig pen. CS6 does not have Windows INK support. CC version of Photoshop do. So you do not have to add a PSuserConfif.txt file to your CS6 Photoshop preferences.
