Transform Undo broken in 2020

Pre-reqs:

1) PSUserConfig file with "TransformProportionalScale 0"

2) "Use Legacy Undo Shortcuts" toggled in Keyboard Shortcuts and Menus

 

Steps to repilcate issue:

1) record an action

2) transform a layer, then stop action

3) undo to revert layer back to original transformation

4) double-click the action to transform the layer again


Here's where the problem starts...

 

5) make adjustments to the transformation now and see if you can undo any of your transformation steps.

 

Undo within the transformation tool only works on fresh, non-recorded transformations.  If you record a "Transform current layer" step and come back later to adjust that step of the action, undo no longer works.

 

Edit: I tested this in CC 2019 and Undo works flawlessly there.  This error only occurs in CC 2020.

Hi, Bsnyder, is it with 21.1.1? On a PC or a Mac?

Please also check without the config file, but with the preference, as stated by DaveSCM and report back here before posting on Feedback.

    I'm on a Mac using High Sierra.  PS 21.1.1

     

    I deleted "TransformProportionalScale 0" from UserConfig 2020 Settings folder.

     

    I have both options selected in PS and have restarted PS to make sure they're in effect:

     - Use Legacy Undo Shortcuts

     - Use Legacy Free Transform

     

    I still have the issue where I'm unable to Undo individual free transformations from an action.

     

    C_pfaff is correct in what I was referring to.  However, in my case, the action is named "Transform Current Layer"; not "Transform" as shown in his screenshot.

    Why have PSUserConfig with TransformProportionalScale 0 set with the current version. It was superceded by "Use Legacy Free Transform" in Preferences.

     

    Setting "Use Legacy Free Transform" and "Use Legacy Undo Shortcuts"  I restarted Photoshop and followed your steps but cannot replicate your issue with PS Version 21.1.1 on Windows 10.

      I work with 21.1.1 on macOS 10.15.3 and when I check the »Toggle dialog …«-button or the Tranformation-step I cannot undo individual tarnsformation changes when running the Action. 

      I assume that’s what the OP meant – but who knows when people speak of a »transformation tool« in Photoshop …
