Hi there,

I really like the tutorials of Photoshop, but I have got stuck with a few of them. I think they are not up-to-date, or compatible with the latest version of PS. Are these bugs going to be fixed?

Thanks

Agnes

In this tutorial given your screenshot - you are not actually clicked on the background layer in the layers panel,  you are on the layer above.

At the beginning of this tutorial the background layer is shown, the layer 'night sky' is hidden. Then three corectional layers (sorry, I do not know the exact English terminology in Photoshop, I only use it in Hungarian) have to made. After that it says that when we want to make a photo made in daylight look like it was taken at night, we have to "exchange the sky". And the next step is to "click on the background layer to make it active". Whichever layer I click on, or make it appear, disappear and appear again, the tutorial does not move on.

I hope my discreption what detailed enough this time. 🙂

*have to be made

sorry for the mistakes

I only took the screenshot to let you know what I am talking about, I did not pay attention to where my mouse was or where I clicked the last time and things like that.

Hi @Ágnes30500471b6wm look closely - it depends where you double-click.

I click on the correct place. This comes up. No new layer can be made here.

Just one more, and I have to go, will send more if needed later.

So, this one here says something like "double-click on the 'background' layer and open New layer dialog box, and convert the layer to a normal layer."

First of all, double-clicking does not open the mentioned dialog box, it opens the 'layer styles' box. Second, it IS a normal layer.

Hi @Ágnes30500471b6wm that layer is not a background layer. Can you share a link to the tutorial so we can review?

Okay, sorry. This is one example.

The tutorial says "click on 'background' layer to make it appear". I did and nothing happens, I mean, it appears, but the tutorial does not continue. Btw, tha layer is not named 'background' but 'Night sky' as you can see - that is why I thought it is not updated or something.

I will make more screenshots later today. Thank you in advance.

@Ágnes30500471b6wm

In addition to what Kevin said, the tutorials are very specific. If they tell you to use one tool and you use another, you will be stuck. Screenshots and times of where you are stuck will help us to help you. If these tutorials are on the Home page and you do not have a URL, tell us how to find it so we can get there too.

Hi @Ágnes30500471b6wm can you share links to the specific tutorials you are having issues with and explain where you get stuck?
