Unable to Save Photos as .PNG or .JPEG

Currently, I'm not able to save items as ".png" or ".jpeg" because the option doesn't show. Instead I am prompted to save as a ".tiff" which is not what I wanted. I've researched the issue and done the fixes such as changing the color code of the canvas, the bit size, resetting preferences and re-installing. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Within the File Handling section of the Photoshop Preferences is the new option Enable legacy "Save As".

This works, thank you, however is there a way to make it so it shows up for the Save As?

Have a look at...

File > Export > Export As

In the upper right corner of the dialog box you can change Format. Options include JPG and PNG which you were looking for.

I normally use the File>Save As, but when I was looking for the solution, I used a different method using a shortcut with ctrl + shift.

Photoshop has multiple methods for saving/exporting images. Could you please be more specific about how you are trying to save.
