Unable to save updated file to hard drive

Modified files from Photoshop or Indesign will only save to cloud, not to hard drive. The message says the scan/file is damaged if I try to save to hard drive, and I bought a new external drive to try and solve this which did not work. This is a recent problem since updates

Hi, @suejcase any progress?

Can other programs save ok?

Did you try to save a blank document in both apps?

Also, are you on a Mac, a PC? Which version of the operating system?

If you are on a Mac, did you give permissions for Photoshop/InDesign to have access to the hard drive?

Hi, to implement save by default to the hard drive, select "On your computer" in the

"Default File Location" a section of Preferences > File Handling

Could you show us the error message that you get?

This is the answer I get. Also in Preferences/File handling I get no option to select Save to computer.

I can only save to Cloud still. Do you have any other thoughts?
