Question

Unable to switch from video timeline mode to frame animation mode

I am trying to make a GIF frame animation in Photoshop.

The first time I opened the timeline panel, I saw the menu to choose between "video" and "frame animation".

Unfortunately I chose "video" by mistake, and now I am unable to get back to the "frame animation" mode that I want.

I find no place on the timeline panel to switch modes.

I found other instructions on Adobe's website that say there is a button to switch between the two, but this must be for the PC version (I have the Mac version of Photoshop).

I tried closing the application and opening it again. Same problem.

Really frustrating.

Can anybody please help?

Thanks

ps I have the full Photoshop

From the Timeline fly-out menu go to Convert Frames>Convert to Frame Animation.

Then go to Make Frames from Layers.

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for responding. Unfortunately, my Timeline "fly out menu" is not the same as yours.

Mine has no way to "convert to frame animation".

Attached please find a screenshot of what my timeline fly-out menu looks like

To review my workflow up until this point:

1. Scripts > Load Files into Stack

2. Make Frames from Layers

Any additional guidance is appreciated.

Matt

From the looks of your screenshot your already in Frame Animation and not Timeline.

What version of photoshop and operating system are you using?

If it's cs6 is it photoshop cs6 Extended or Standard?
