Undo No Longer Applies to Replace Color Picker

Explorer ,
Oct 14, 2025 Oct 14, 2025

After a recent update the Undo/Redo (Ctrl+Z, Ctrl+Shift+Z) functions no longer apply to the color picker for Replace Color. This is inconvenient because now if you make a mistake you, have to start over selecting colors.

Hey!

Can you share what version of Photoshop you're using and share a screenshot of your workspace?

Do you mean when you are selecting a color or when you apply the color? Does the step show up in your History panel?

These steps are within Replace Color and are not recorded in History. However, Undo/Redo aren't applying to what you do within Replace Color anymore (for me), which is something that I use constantly.

Hi CM,

It's the latest version of Photoshop - currently 26.11.0. And actually it no longer effects any action in the Replace Color popup, e.g.: chaging saturation, lightness, etc., not just picking colors.

See if going to Edit>Preferences>Technology Previews, unchecking Enable Modern User Interface, then restarting Photoshop makes any difference.

Hi j.fuller@sensusmi.com, I'm just checking in to see if the suggestion helped or if you are still running into this issue? If you are still experiencing issues with undo commands, could you please send me your system information, a screen recording of the issue, and a numbered list of the exact steps required to reproduce? You can find your system info by going to Help > System Info, copying and pasting it into a text file, and attaching it here. Thanks! ^CH
