Units & Rulers

100% image size does not equal real life 100% size. When PS rulers are set to centimeters my screen does not match my real life centimeter ruler. Image is bigger than real life. (see attached image)

So I changed my preferences to match my screen resolution 4K 27 inch monitor equals 163 dpi. This can be done under edit > units & rulers

Now still no change to the 100% fit...

How can I change adobe PS to match real life measurements??

Thanks in advance

100% in Photoshop is not a physical size. It means one image pixel mapped onto one screen pixel. It is set that way for critical image adjustment, as it does introduce any scaling.

To view at the ruler size use View >Print Size which will use the screen resolution you set in preferences to display the image scaled to the physical dimensions.

Thank you Dave!

May I ask if there is a short keyboard shortcut to switch back and to? I can't find anything online.

BTW this works indeed so again, thank you!

The default shortcut for 100% is Ctrl+1 (Cmd+1 on Mac).

There is no shortcut allocated by default to Print Size but if you go to Edit > Keyboard shorcuts and look under shortcuts for Application Menus > View - you can allocate your own shortcut to that item.
