Updated Photoshop, Saving webPs Freezes Photoshop

Before upgrading to Photoshop 2023, I was able to save as webPs without a hitch. I upgraded today to 2023 and can no longer get webPs to save as Photoshop just hangs up. Really frustrating. I'd like to downgrade back to Photoshop 2022.

Hi @ha35623707 you can downgrade by going to the Creative Cloud desktop app, select the apps tab and find Photoshop. Other versions is an option listed under the ellipses button next to the software.

Prior to reinstalling old software a couple of things to try:

1. Try resetting your Photoshop preferences manually. Note: Reinstalling does not automatically reset them so you could be installing over bad preference files:
https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#reset-preferences

2. Go to Photoshop Help Menu/System Info and copy/paste details in a reply. Post only once as the system takes time to process the large amount of data.

Hello, Kevin, and thank you for your suggestion.

I already went through and downgraded, and now webP is working as it should. I think I'll hold off on updating to 2023 until later this year.

I also noticed that after the upgrade, I was seeing white flashing when opening up an image (and, yes, I did go into Preferences and followed instructions on how to remove that). But then I discovered processing webPs wasn't working and decided it was easier to just go back to 2022 than spend time troubleshooting further.
