Urgent! photoshop cc 2018 spinning wheel when using brushes
1. Urgent, working on a big project with many layers.
Mac OS 10.13.1 High Sierra, Photoshop CC 2018 both downloaded to iMac recently.
Problem occurs when file gets large, currently working in a 655 meg file for print.
When using Stamp or Brush tool - paint with tool and see a spinning wheel as PS processes the stroke.
Smoothing (and all other options) are checked off in brush palette window. Brush will slow more when smoothing is checked.
I have gone into User > Library > Application Support > Preferences > Adobe PhotoshopCC 2018 Prefs.psp and placed on desktop.
Restart computer with PS generating a new one and problem is still there.
Have recently used Disk Utility app to run First Aid as well.
This issue is new since I installed updated OS and PSCC 2018.
All was well before with the same settings as below.
Have 3200 Ram, PS Performance is at 70%, Advanced Graphics Processor set to Normal.
Have Desktop Scratch Disk 500 gig.
2. Not a biggie, just an annoyance.
I cannot change the default version of PS to PSCC 2018.
Using Cmd. i to get info window on any psd file.
"Open with" is stuck on CS5 (which is loaded in computer).
after changing to PSCC 2018 and clicking "change all" and then "continue"
"Open with" goes back to CS5.
Must use Control key to open psd file from icon.
Once PSCC 2018 is open, any psd file will open in 2018 without having to use the Control key.
Apple says its Adobe issue.
Much appreciation to anyone that can help. I'm under the gun.
