Use patch tool cross layers

Hey guys,

 

If I have two images, each one in a separated layer and I wanna extract a patch from layer A and paste it on layer B, how can I do that using the patch tool? Thank you!

Layer A - Command J to float a copy of what you have selected.

Move the new layer C on top of  Layer B

Command E to merge down Layer C  into layer B

When using Patch tool > Content Aware you have Sample All Layers in the Options bar. Check that option, select layer to which you want to copy or patch from another layer and try.
