use surrealism effect on image

So I generated an image with generative AI in photoshop 2025 using the surrealism effect.

Then I brought an image of my sisters cat into the file and I want to use the same effect on the cat so it blends in with the rest of the image.

Adobe support told me it's not possible at this time. Maybe a nice feature for the future.

Anyone maybe knows a work around?

Ah, my bad. You'd have to use the Beta-version of Photoshopfor that. But no guarantee it will work as expected. Just an idea. 😉

Try to use an selection with lower opacity before generating. E. g. use the selection brush with an opacity between 10 and 30 to select the cat. Then use Generative Fill and there add the image with the surrealism effect as a style reference.

When I use generative fill, I can't add an image as a style reference.

This is only possible with 'generate image'. And this generates a whole new image.

Or am I missing something?
