Using a shape layer as a clipping mask has problems in PS 2021 Rel. 22.0.1

A shape layer placed underneath an image and used as a clipping mask for the image does not properly mask the image to the shape.
When using a rounded rectangle a small portion of the image protrudes below the rectangle.
When using a custom shape a large portion of the image protrudes outside the shape.

I've moved this from the Using the Community forum (which is the forum for issues using the forums) to the Photoshop forum so that proper help can be offered.

I can't replicate that here. It looks like it may be a screen drawing issue with your GPU. As a troubleshooting step, try turning off the GPU in Preferences > Performance click OK and close and restart Photoshop.
