v25 just showed up in CC as a new release (not beta). I thought the release date is usually at Adobe Max?

Hi Earth, and all,

To answer in short:

  • We're doing a phased roll out of the new release
  • Timing is correct
  • Documentation will come soon. Stay tuned.

Regards,

PG

Yes - I got it yesterday (on Windows), it would appear that it is being released ahead of Max probably as a phased roll out which would explain why only some are seeing it so far.

Seems like a big mistake, no? Have they mentioned to any content creators that this was the intended date? Where are the release videos? Where's the release post here? Why hasn't "What's New" been updated? Seems really weird to release so far ahead of Max...

The timing does seem strange, although it is not unusual to see the update information come along a day or two after the actual update.

A reminder to others who may read this - when you get the update you do not have to delete the previous version, just uncheck the 'delete previous version' box when updating and keep the older version around in case problems are uncovered in the new version.

The same thing has been happening with updates as well.

Many times users will post here saying they just got such and such an update and it seems to be a week or more till everyone starts getting the update.

Meanwhile if they have questions about someting in the update, there is no documentation about what's in the update.

Yes it does seem odd that with about a month till MAX a new version of photoshop would be available

so far ahead of the usual release date.

Thanks. I wonderd why I wasn't seeing the generative fill option in the contextual bar. Can't wait for v25!

@JSVFoto You can use the beta (v25.1) if you want to try generative fill ahead of the release
