I'm setting up some photos for fine art prints and no matter what I do I cannot take the 3 layers of text and align then at Verticle top edge, verticle center and verticle lower edge. I've used a rectangle marque to try and aligin these 3 layers but it just isn't working!
Could someone please help me with this??!! It's driving me nuts because when this doesn't work I'm just "eyeballing" especially the center vertical of text

Hi Julia,
The easiest way to align the text vertically is to keep it in one text layer. I used Return so each line is its own paragraph. Photoshop will not show the invisible Return character like InDesign and Illustrator do, so you’ll need to keep track of the Return character.
You can use Leading and / or Space Below. I used both. Leading is a Character setting and you need to select every character in the line, including the invisible Return. Typical leading is typesize + 2, but is less with all caps as you are using. When you select the Return, it looks like you've selected a space. Click four times or drag with the Type tool.
Space After is a paragraph level setting, so all you need to do is click once in the paragraph and set the Space After.
Because of the all caps, my leading is the same as my typesize for all three lines. They are in separate paragraphs. Space After is 6 pts for each. You will need to play with these settings.
Open the Character and Paragraph panels from the Window menu.
Horizontal alignment is a paragraph setting for Center (although you didn't ask).
Also, please don't use inch marks in your truly lovely design. Instead, use real quotes.
"These are inch marks and not quotes. Use them to specify inches."
“These are quote marks and this is what you should use.”
