Very old Photoshop image files

New Here ,
Jul 13, 2020 Jul 13, 2020

I have some very old files believed to be Photoshop 1.0. By now their extension have been lost.

Attached is an example. I am unable to attach file since the system will not accept files whoes type can not be identified.

Any help will be very welcome

peter

Add a ".psd" at the end and see what happens?

If the files are indeed from photoshop 1.0, then it's from a mac which did not save extensions.

If it's in the photoshop format, only an older mac version of photoshop that supports the photoshop 2.0 file format can open it.

What operating system and version of photoshop do you have?

You can post the image on Google Drive or Dropbox or something similar.

I am using OS 13.1 and CS6 photoshop and should be able to read Photoshop 2 files. None of the file formats supported by CS6 will read the file. Perhaps my memory fails me (again). The date of the files are 1995,

Wow. This excatly as expected. But I can only get a transposed/distorted image in my CS6. Guess I will have to try around with other OS/CS versions.

Thanks - now I know it is there,

Peter
