Question

View actual pixel dimensions, for example Leaderboard 768x90

Before I opened photoshop I could choose to render at Low Res (apple 'i' and choose lowres on the app). This way I could see pixel dimensions based on a browser display of 72ppi. In the new version 2024 this has now gone. Is there an option in preferences?

Illustrator has 'Display Print Size at 100% Zoom' which is handy, as this can be toggled on and off to get a good idea to pixel dimension.

can anyone help.

»choose lowres on the app«

I hope you didn’t uninstall Photoshop 2023 – does that still feature such a setting?

Or was that a setting that Mac removed in an OS update?

View > 100% is ctrl/cmd+1, as it has always been. That's one image pixel to one physical screen pixel.

From your description it seems you want View > 200%, which doesn't have a default shortcut, but it's very simple to assign one.

View > 200% uses four screen pixels to represent one image pixel, so it effectively turns your retina display into a standard low resolution HD display.
