Ways to export Photo Shop files on an ipad

New Here ,
Dec 18, 2024 Dec 18, 2024

I'm trying to use some of my files I created on Photo Shop as illustrations from my ipad. I don't see how to move files to other apps like Pages. I thought about first saving them to my SanDisk flash drive but the SanDisk app only seems to link with my photo library and nothing else. The Pages app had a link to icloud but I do not know how to link the icloud to Photo Shop or vice versa. I would appreciate anyone who can share how

You can export to png, jpeg, psd, and tiff. I don't use Apple's Pages app, so you might consider asking on an Apple forum.

The answer is largely about how to work in apps on iPad OS, because most of it isn’t about Photoshop specifically but how iOS export and import work.

jane-e is right about the first step. Photoshop works like nearly all iOS apps, in that the way you save/export a copy is to tap that Share icon and go from there.

In your case, you want an image to put into Pages. So the next step is, after you select the file format, the iOS Share Sheet menu will offer destinations like other apps. Unfortunately Pages doesn’t show up on that menu (that’s because of Pages, not Photoshop), so you probably want to tap Save Image or Save to Files. The difference is that Save Image copies it into Apple Photos, and Save to Files lets you choose a folder in the Files app (similar to a computer desktop).

Now you can switch to Pages. In Apple apps like Pages, Keynote, and Freeform, the standard way to bring in an image is to tap the image icon. Then, in the menu that appears, you tell the app where you want to get the image from. This depends on what you chose earlier, so:

  • If earlier you chose Save Image,  the image went to Apple Photos, so here in Pages tap “Photo or Video” and get the photo out of there.
  • If earlier you chose Save to Files, the image went to the Files app, so here in Pages tap “Insert From”, go to the folder where you saved the image from Photoshop, and get the photo from there; again this method works a lot like on a computer.
