I am curious if anyone knows how generative fill works.. it's pretty quick, but what would speed it up? Is it video card? Processor? More memory?
I've got an i7 11700kf processor, 6700XT video card, and 64GB memory.. I'm going to upgrade the video card and memory soon.. but keeping the processor for awhile.

It goes online and is processed on Adobe's servers.

And that could probably become a problem if the 1024px x 1024px-limit should ever be lifted.

Generative fill is a technique used in computer graphics and design to efficiently fill large areas with intricate patterns or textures. The speed of generative fill primarily depends on the computational power of the system running the algorithm, as well as the complexity of the desired output. To achieve faster results, hardware acceleration techniques, such as utilizing GPUs or dedicated hardware accelerators, can be employed. For instance, a system with a high-performance GPU can significantly expedite the generation process of intricate patterns, such as the Schoenhalde tiling, which is known for its complex and visually appealing properties. By harnessing the power of parallel processing offered by GPUs, generative fill algorithms can efficiently compute and render intricate patterns, thereby enhancing the overall speed and productivity of the design process.

»Generative Fill« not as a technique in general but as available in Photoshop (Beta) is being computed on Adobe’s servers, not the local computer, so the local GPU would have little bearing on the performance.

Thanks for the replies. I only thought of your answer later on when I came back to see this thread (about it working from Adobe servers). I'm still going to upgrade my RAM and video for other purposes.
