I want to transfer my Actions from Photoshop 2023 to 2024 but cant find the folders where I should transfer them to.

Is there a way to do this or do I need to remake my Actions in 2024?  I have Windows.

One should manually save out each action set "folder" individually to a .atn file using the menu on the upper right of the action panel window. You can then transfer them to the new computer and load them in using the same menu. They can also be loaded by double-clicking on the .atn file if it is associated with Photoshop. Although it may be possible to transfer the .psp preference file, it is always best practice to save a copy of each action set to .atn file.

Save them anywhere you like. The point is that you know where they are. Then you load them from the new installation. Save Actions > Load actions.

As long as you keep them in a safe place, you can always restore in case you need to reset preferences (which will wipe them).

That's a discipline everyone should try to follow with everything to do with file structures.  How many times have you heard someone say they can't find the file they just saved, because they didn't bother to take mental note of the folder path/hierarchy?

I've mentioned keeping presets and some plugins in a My Docs location, and putting shortcuts to that location in the Photoshop default location.  I don't currently do it with .atn files but now you mention it, there's no reason not to save out groups to a My Docs location so you could share between full release and beta versions.  I can't think of a way to do this with custom workspaces though, so I have to manually copy between appdata\roaming\adobe file paths.

I do find it a bit of a pain to keep full and beta version assets sync'd, and am always interested in how other people manage?

Save your actions and then copy/paste them, for example, into the following directory: C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2024\Presets\Actions. This is the default folder for user actions. Later, you will find the actions in the list just below the default actions, as shown in the screenshot below.

I cannot save my Actions from the program.

I have two versions of Photoshop on my computer 2023 and 2024 and I need to delete the 2023.  A couple of my actions are stuck in there and I'd like to move them. 😕

@dnemeth01 – You need to select the folder (which in reality is a file, bad UI choice IMHO), and then you can save the action set which contains one or more actions.
