What's your best or favorite Photoshop version?

I like to install various versions and compare them, find problems and bugs, and compare pros and cons.

What's your best or favorite Photoshop version?

In my case,

PS 2015.5 or PS CS6 is really fast and stable. But because it's old, we're looking at new versions

If not use PS2019(20.0.6) is also good. not bad speed.

And If need New function(Something like Object Selection tool), PS2020(21.0.3) is best version i guess.

Less bugs, not bad speed

PS2021 overall, I don't think there was much merit. (Also much slower...)

And finally, PS2022... is It seems to be a very complicated version with various problems. It definitely felt a little lighter than 2021, but I think it was only in the early version...

It seems that the stable version is 23.3.2. ...

But it's has really slow zoom in liquify, and crashing when use Object selection or Select Subject.

So, In 23.5, it may be better because various crashes and zoom problems were solved, but overall the program became too heavy. Even the speed of object selection is disastrous.

(btw, And the bug of loading foreground color(Some Solid Color black or white) incorrectly in the mixer brush started at 23.0.2 and is still stuck. People who use a lot of mixer brushes should roll back to 2021 or 2020 version. )

Among the many causes of the crash, it seems to come from the problems of Adobe and Nvidia graphics cards. So, I saw an Adobe employee answer that the graphics card is not working. ...

It would be great if the current version of good technology were combined with the same lightness and speed as CS6 before CC2014. That's greed.

 

So to get back to the point, my favorite Photoshop version is 21.0.3. What is your version? And why? I'm curious.

    Hi

    v23.5 stable and speedy here. There are a few minor bugs brought forward and one (update of the status bar info panel) that is new, but overall it is a good experience.

    I use Photoshop on two systems both Windows 10.
    System 1. i9-10920X, 256GB RAM, RTX3090 GPU, Scratch disk and applications on NVMe drives and storage on SSD drives. That system was built for 3D modelling, simulation and rendering so far exceeds the requirements of Photoshop which is just one step in the workflow.

    System 2. i7-3930K, 64GB RAM, RTX2080ti. SSD and spinning drives. At 9 years old, it is getting on a bit (the GPU was updated later) but still runs Photoshop v23.5 without lags or issues.

     

    I do keep older versions of Photoshop installed, but that's mainly for testing and answering questions from the forum. For daily use, it is the latest version.

    Newer versions place ever heavier demands on the GPU. If you have crashes or performance problems, that's the reason. They're all fast and stable as long as the GPU/driver is up to it (aside from more esoteric problems with third-party plugins/extensions/peripherals).

     

    And then new PS versions are needed to keep up with OS changes. That's an underrated factor that people tend to forget.

     

    With computers and software, it's the Red Queen. You have to keep running just to stay in the same place.

     

    And that's really the full answer. Yes, minor bugs come and go, but rarely anything big enough to really affect workflow. The main thing is that they get fixed. And they mostly do.

     

    I'm getting ready for a new build with an RTX3060 GPU, just to be proactive. My present Quadro P2200 still works without problems, but I expect it to become obsolete any day now.
