When doing a quick export to.jpg , the image is not retaining the original size? (windows 10)

I'm resizing headshots and have been for sometime. I usually change the image size to 408 X 480  , 96 resolution. When I check the properties>details of the saved photo the dimensions are 9009 x 10598 pixels. The issue just started recently, any suggestions?

Check your units. Are you by any chance inputting inches/cm instead of pixels?

What exact export method are you using?

A screen shot could also be very helpful.

I've also tried Save As.. and Save a Copy and I get the same issues.

I believe it was the units. Thank you!

That’s bizarre that you would get the same odd result from such different exporting options.

What happens if you use...
File > Export > Export As

When Photoshop (or any Adobe program) starts acting “weird”, a reset of the Preferences will often solve it. Open up the Preferences (now listed as Settings) and from the General section click on "Reset Preferences On Quit"
