When I crop things move about wild like how do I stop it.  I just tried to crop and I moved up and the next thing I know I have a document that is 250" high.

Is there a setting someplace that says

with a check box. "Don not move document background all about wildly when you try to crop. " ?

If you would rather reposition the crop frame rather than reposition the image, in the Crop Tool Options Bar choose the Gear and from the  drop-down menu choose Classic.

    Idea #1

Could this problem be related to an issue with a mouse or graphics tablet? Could you have a malfunctioning device? Could be as simple as a loose cable or a bit of dirt on a connection?

    Idea #2

    Try resetting the Photoshop preferences.

    Preferences in Photoshop

"Press and hold Alt+Control+Shift (Windows) or Option+Command+Shift (Mac OS) as you start Photoshop. You are prompted to delete the current settings. The new preferences files are created the next time you start Photoshop."

I have Photoshop on 4 different systems.  Try it on yours hit the crop button and then pull it up it just really fast like goes up an up and you have no control over it.  you cant make it move slow.  It does this in any of the newer versions of Photoshop.

It moves my image off the screen and you see all white.  The old way - my image held still while I tried to position the crop tool but now it all fancy like moves all over the place and I am trying to catch it every time I try to crop.
